Private Viewing

This past Sunday evening was a real treat for us.
We had been invited by friends to take part in a "private viewing" of an art collection. Seems they won a bid on this event in a fund raising auction. About a dozen of us attended.
None of us knew exactly what to expect....and it turned out differently than we'd thought.
This art collection was part of what turns out to be a Private Gallery that is actually housed in a private residence as well.
They do business to only those who know of them through word of mouth. If you don't know of them....you'll never discover this.
They go to Paris on a regular basis to buy new art. The business now spans into the third generation.
I was allowed to take some pics....but nope.....I won't disclose anything else about this.
If they've done this well by keeping it quiet....it's best left that way!

It's official

Yep...my latest venture is now happening. I am an official member of the Sandywood Gallery Co-Op in Tiverton, RI.
This is a gallery that is just about to reach 1yr old... so there are still learning curves ... but certainly well on their way. The building is delightful. It's bright, new, airy, and welcoming. The red door and front porch makes a nice first impression.
I realize that there may be challenges in taking this on and I'm honestly not sure how it'll go. I intend to start this in a very positive direction and have my fingers crossed that it'll all work out. I've got my dues paid, work on the wall, and am already on committees. All I'm waiting for is to have myself added to the members page on the website, which is in the works. Soo...we'll see how it goes.

My first and most important thing is to keep time to work on my art itself. I don't intend to let this take over to the point of becoming a problem with that. The galleries that already represent my art deserve to have new work to rotate and I also like to take part in numerous shows....not to mention that I hope to find myself published again if possible.

Soo....I do feel good about this right now and that it will fit into the plan just fine. We'll see. Can't know until we try!!

A lovely surprise

How wonderful it is to find out over a cup of coffee on a quiet Sunday morning that The Little Beach Gallery in Hyannis, Ma had an awesome day yesterday!!
Seems that one couple came in an bought FOUR of my pieces at once!!! Yay!! I'm soo thrilled that they loved the work that much.
The gallery posted this pic on their FaceBook page!
Woohoo...looks like I better get filling up that wall again....quickly!!

Uncommon Art

Yes....not only do I think the word "uncommon" is a good one to describe my art, but, as it turn out, it is also the name of the new gallery I am in.... Uncommon Art Gallery in Bristol, RI.
What a really lovely space this is. Two floors of the most interesting and unusual work. I looked around at numerous galleries in the area, some of which were really quite nice, but was more taken by this slightly out of the way but delightfully charming place than anywhere else.
It is right on the main road...Hope St....but set slightly back from the B&B in front. Very near the water.
If you find yourself in the area this summer it would most certainly be worth your while to take a stroll over there. Click on the link above and I think you'll agree!!
If you're lucky...you may even meet Destiny!

Adding another

another "gallery" that is!!

Yes, my trip to the Cape last week was quite worthwhile. I now am represented by a gallery in Hyannis.... The Little Beach Gallery. Their entire gallery is beach themed as you might imagine. Quite a nice fit I think, since I do sooo many beachscapes!
I can only hope that they do really well with the busy season just ahead.
Sadly, you'll see in the link that I haven't been added to the online list...yet...but it is coming I'm told.

I still have several other good places in the Cape to follow up on...so maybe I'll get another. I do want to keep them with a good distance between, so even just one more further into the Cape would be good! I'll certainly keep you posted!!
