Torn Paper Paintings now offered Online!!

 Today marks the beginning of a brand new venture with my Torn Paper Paintings.
I was contacted recently by someone who had discovered my art in a gallery. It turns out that this person owns and operates an online store called "Ocean Offerings" that specializes in products with the coastal theme.

She explained that she was interested in adding my art to her shop. What a nice surprise that was!

We met to discuss how this would work and after taking care of what details needed to be tended to, I am now proud to announce my new association with this very cool online store.

A Warmer Place

Here in New England, as the weather begins to get cooler, my thoughts seem to be going to a warmer place.

Yes...it's still at the beach....but a warmer one right now.

Instead of the usual dunes.....this one has gone in the direction of palm trees!!

Ahh...love palm trees :)

Ancient Travel

Well....it was time for another "envie" swap at my art group.

The theme for this months envelope was "travel".... whatever came to mind. Oh yes...and there had to be at least 3 rubber stamps used.

I couldn't for the life of me figure out what to do until I suddenly remembered some Egyptian stamps I've had for ages!!

Yep...a bit of ancient travel.

Used marker and colored pencils for the color in this one. I like the way it came out.

I'm going to have to remember these stamps in the future!

Happiness is....

The theme for the weekly postcard swap this week at my art site is "happiness is..."
For me that would most certainly be under a palm tree by the water.
I think I've always been an island girl at heart. I love being in the tropics (who doesn't) but since I don't live on an island I am at least happy to live on water just the same. A little steel drum music and a rum punch and I can certainly pretend that the pine trees around me are palms!!
At any rate, I do think I needed to spend a few moments with my watercolors instead of all that torn paper from the last project.....although the next one is in the works!!

Miami in Paper

Whew....I can't believe I finally finished this one. At least...for the moment, I think I'm finished. I've been working on this one off and on for quite some time.

I did this from a picture that I took of a building on South Beach in Miami. I just love all the deco buildings there.

Trying this paper process on something like buildings was quite the undertaking. It's one thing to focus on a small subject...but a street scene....what was I thinking.

I can't even begin to tell you how many times I changed this piece as I went along.

In the end...I'm pretty please with it. This one is approx. 11"x14". I've got one more piece in the works that is about the same size. Again, it's one that I've been doing a little at a time. It's looking good soo far, so we'll see how it goes!
