Memories

That's what I'm calling this piece.
This one was done from a photo I took of two of my chairs in the backyard beside the pond. I take a lot of photos of those chairs and change up the colors I use when making them.

I've done many of them as smaller single chair pieces. This is the largest so far, 18"x24", of two together. While it was certainly more work....I really like it.
Those of you who have followed my Torn Paper Paintings work know that there are many many hidden words and images throughout each piece for the viewer to find. Some easy...some not (don't want you finding everything right away).

This one is getting it's name from one of the words found within the piece. My husband saw the word, and of course the tune started to play in his head right away...lol Figured that was a sign that it would work as the name. After all....who doesn't have fond "memories" of sitting in chairs by the edge of the water on a summer day. Memories of those warm relaxed peaceful days are with everyone...especially as we do our best to make it through these winter months in hope of seeing those warm days again.

For those of you who may not ever see this piece in person and have the opportunity to find some of the hidden images within....I've taken just a few and put them here for you to enjoy. Click on it to enlarge.
Now I think I'm going to hang this one up for a while and picture a nice warm beach day!

Nemo

the blizzard...not the fish...lol
We got hit with a big one last weekend. At this time last week I was out getting everything I needed to be able to be snowbound for however long it took. The predictions were pretty serious.

Well....we did end up with approx. 20" of snow. Thank goodness, as my husband would say..."at least  we are hardy New England stock". The snow came in on Friday evening. We lost power until Sunday...but we have a generator so were able to run that for several hours at a time to keep the heat up and get a few things done with light. I think the hardest part was not being unable to get online...no internet until Monday night!!

My mother-in-law was also without power or heat...so she came to stay with us since we at least had heat off and on with the generator and the fireplace full time.
It was actually pretty fun. Board games, red wine, and hot soup....it's all good!!
Since I'm not a fan of driving in bad weather I do find myself at home and in the artroom a lot more during the winter....soo...due to this big one, I'm way ahead on getting some canvas prep done...lots of underpaintings ready and waiting for paper!!

This should certainly keep me busy for a while...and at the very least...they are all images with the promise of warm weather to come!!

Two Scoops

Well....today the groundhog said that spring was coming early....I certainly hope he's right!!!
I guess with spring around the corner (fingers crossed) it's time to get on the fast track with some new summer images before I find the galleries in need of some fresh work.
One of the summer images that came to mind this year was....ice cream!!!
Sooo...why not a series....sooo many flavors to choose from. I know I have a hard time picking one in "real" life....so I started with the basic....Chocolate & Vanilla.

Let's face it....everybody likes either one or both of these two.
But...with that said....I do see a series!!! Strawberry...Blk Raspberry...Mint Choco Chip...etc.
Oh yes...keep watching. More to come :)
