Habitat House

Finally finished with the first of two birdhouses I have here to decorate for a Habitat for Humanity fundraiser that my real estate office is taking part in. I had originally said that I'd do one...but the minute they realized that I enjoy painting I was given the job of making two...one that will be considered the "office" donation. I've still got the other to finish...so I'm not sure yet which one will be the personal contribution and which will be the office.

A new paper piece

Ahhh...finally gave myself a good bit of right brain action.
My daughter, who works for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation, told me of a fund raiser they were having in March. It is to be a Mardi Gras theme ball and they were looking for donations for the auction.
Every year I try to do what I can for donations to good causes. Since I was feeling the need to drown myself in a piece of art....I got right into this one.
I can't honestly say for absolute certainty that it is done....you know how that goes...but for the moment I'm thinking it looks pretty good. May get a minor tweak here or there....but I'm feeling pretty good about it right now.

All my jiggys

are finally made and almost ready to mail. These little guys are being donated to the Autism fundraiser event called "Art Now for Autism"

The foundations logo is a puzzle piece, and it turns out that for this event they have a special need for "puzzle pins".
Since I've been making these puzzle pins for a while now...I contacted them about these and was told that they'd LOVE to have some!
I've made eight of these little guys for them!
These fun little pins will be on their way on Monday!

Since I'd completed the pins last night, I spent much of today as a "play" day. My friend Debbie came over to join me in a day in the pool!
We started with coffee on the dock for a bit so we could catch up on all the latest....then into the pool.
I don't believe we even got out of the water for two hours straight! It felt sooo good. We had a really fun time and it felt very much like two little girls just having a great day of play!
Note to self: do this more often! :)
